Valentine Dance

Feb 21st ,
Holy Cross Greek-Catholic church, 12pm-3pm
Keeping the Monks in Southern CA
Holy Cross Melkite Greek-Catholic Church
451 W. Madison Ave, Placentia, CA
This will be an opportunity to meet the monks of Holy resurrection Monastery and to hear about their plans for the future. There will be a short liturgical service and lunch will be provided (for which a $10 donation per person is requested)

Friday Jan 16th, special pan-Eastern Catholic Divine Liturgy

SAVE THE DATE: Friday January 16, 2009 at 7:00 pm

In honor of the Year of St. Paul, Fr. Noel Gorgiss and the Assyrian Chaldean Catholic Parish of St. Paul the Apostle, 13050 Vanowen St., North Hollywood, CA 91605, have invited members of St. Andrew Russian Greek-Catholic parish and St. Paul Melkite Mission, El Segundo, their guests, and all other Eastern Catholics and their friends to join them in celebrating the Chaldean Church feast of Sts. Peter and Paul on Friday January 16, 2009 at 7:00 pm for Liturgy followed by a reception in the church hall. Fr. Alexei(Smith) of St. Andrew’s will be the homilist.

St. Andrew’s and St. Paul Melkite Mission have, in turn, invited St. Paul the Apostle parish to join them on June 29, 2009 to celebrate their feast of Sts. Peter and Paul.

This exchange of visits is envisioned by sponsors, The Eastern Catholic Pastoral Association of Southern California, as a step in improving ties between the diverse Eastern Catholic parishes of the area.

Directions to St. Paul ’s:

From the Northbound or Southbound 170 Fwy (Hollywood Fwy) exit at Victory Blvd. Go West on Victory to Coldwater. Turn North (right) on Coldwater to Vanowen, then left onto Vanowen, staying in the left lane so as to take the very next left, Morse Ave. Go one block on Morse to Welby Way and turn right. The entrance to the parking lot at the rear of the church is on the right.

From Eastbound Vanowen St., cross Fulton, Atoll and Ethel Aves. Immediately after Ethel Ave look for St. Paul’s on the right. Then immediately turn right on to Morse. Go one block on Morse to Welby Way and turn right. The entrance to the parking lot is at the rear of the church, on the right.

Jan 15th. Panachida for +Bishop George

Thursday Jan 15th there will be a divine Liturgy followed by a Panachida for the 40th day observance of the repose of Bishop George Kuzma.

Liturgy will be at 7:30 p.m.
